At times we are reluctant to give when we feel we haven’t got enough to give.
One day, my friend drank half a can of a soda drink, and she didn’t want the rest, and I told her, let’s just keep it with us, we might find a poor street child. My friend was reluctant as the can was truly half full, and frankly I felt reluctant too and wished my friend would just finish it.
And then, I see this old man, dressed in rags, looking at expensive desk furniture from a shop window. So, I approached him and announced that sadly the can was only half full; yet he was joyous, and asked, “Is this truly for me?”
I was like, “Yes, but it’s only half full!”
And then he repeats in joy: “Is it truly for me?!”
Maybe what you think isn’t enough to give is oddly enough a lot to someone who needs it!
